VISITORS/ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF PUBLIC COMMENT CARDS
Visitors may address the Council on any topic that is not already scheduled for Public Hearing. Speakers should
complete a Public Comment Card and present it to the City Secretary before the meeting. Speakers are limited
to 3 minutes. Comments should be directed to the Mayor and City Council. The Texas Open Meetings Act
prohibits the City Council from discussing or taking action on items that are not posted on the agenda. The Mayor
or City Manager may provide specific factual information, recite an existing policy, or schedule the item for
discussion on a future agenda in response to the public comments.

ELECTION OF THE MAYOR PRO TEM FOR THE 2023-2025 CITY COUNCIL (CITY COUNCIL MAY
DELIBERATE THIS ITEM IN EXECUTIVE SESSION AS LISTED ON THE AGENDA)

Executive Session

In compliance with Section 551.074 and Section 551.071 (1) and (2) of the Texas Government Code, Council
may convene into a closed session to discuss the following:
• Personnel
• Deliberate the selection, evaluation, and duties of the Mayor Pro Tem
• Consultation with City Attorney
• Review of duties, responsibilities, and state and local ethics requirements for Mayor and Council
Members and briefing on pending litigation and claims
RECONVENE INTO REGULAR SESSION
Council will reconvene into open session, and take action, if any, on matters discussed in Executive Session.
